Membership

ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP: The subscribers to the Memorandum of Association and such other persons as shall be admitted to membership in accordance with these By-Laws, shall be admitted as members of the Association upon full payment of the appropriate annual membership fee; their names shall be entered in the Register of Members.

REGISTRATION: For the purpose of registration, the number of members of the Association is unlimited.

CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP: There shall be three classes of membership: active, associate, and honourary:

  • "Active membership" shall be available to:
    • Persons of Filipino descent, 18 years of age and over, and their families residing in New Brunswick.
    • Non-Filipino spouse /common law partner, 18 years of age and over and residing in New Brunswick.

    • Active membership entails that the member must attend the activities of the association per year;

  • "Associate membership" shall be available to persons of Filipino descent, 18 years of age and over, living outside New Brunswick, and;
  • "Honourary membership" shall be conferred upon individuals whom the Directors deem to have achieved distinction through notable service to the Filipino community in New Brunswick.

HONOURARY MEMBERSHIP: The procedure for conferring Honourary Membership shall be determined by the Board of Directors subject to the approval by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of members present and voting at the General Assembly.

MEMBERSHIP FEE:

  • Annual membership fees are due on or before March 31st. A late fee of 20% shall be applied after the deadline;
  • The appropriate membership fee during each term shall be determined by the Board of Directors subject to the approval of the Association at a general meeting by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of those members present and voting, and;
  • Full-time students, 18 years of age or over, shall be exempted from the membership fees of the Association.
