Membership
ADMISSION TO MEMBERSHIP: The subscribers to the Memorandum of Association and such other persons as shall be admitted to membership in accordance with these By-Laws, shall be admitted as members of the Association upon full payment of the appropriate annual membership fee; their names shall be entered in the Register of Members.
REGISTRATION: For the purpose of registration, the number of members of the Association is unlimited.
CLASSES OF MEMBERSHIP: There shall be three classes of membership: active, associate, and honourary:
- "Active membership" shall be available to:
- Persons of Filipino descent, 18 years of age and over, and their families residing in New Brunswick.
- Non-Filipino spouse /common law partner, 18 years of age and over and residing in New Brunswick.
- "Associate membership" shall be available to persons of Filipino descent, 18 years of age and over, living outside New Brunswick, and;
- "Honourary membership" shall be conferred upon individuals whom the Directors deem to have achieved distinction through notable service to the Filipino community in New Brunswick.
Active membership entails that the member must attend the activities of the association per year;
HONOURARY MEMBERSHIP: The procedure for conferring Honourary Membership
shall be determined by the Board of Directors subject to the approval by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of members present and voting at the General Assembly.
MEMBERSHIP FEE:
- Annual membership fees are due on or before March 31st. A late fee of 20% shall be applied after the deadline;
- The appropriate membership fee during each term shall be determined by the Board of Directors subject to the approval of the Association at a general meeting by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of those members present and voting, and;
- Full-time students, 18 years of age or over, shall be exempted from the membership fees of the Association.
